Wireframes
With the project goals clearly defined, we transitioned into the high-fidelity wireframing phase. At this stage, the focus was on translating strategic objectives into tangible user flows and layouts. We carefully mapped out key interactions, prioritized content hierarchy, and integrated visual elements that aligned with Bankrate’s brand guidelines.
High-fidelity wireframes allowed us to not only validate the structure and functionality early on but also to bring stakeholders into the conversation with a more realistic view of the final product. This step was crucial in ensuring alignment across teams and setting a strong foundation for a seamless transition into visual design and development.
Outcome
One of the key initiatives in this project was the complete redesign of Bankrate’s editorial pages, integrating transactional elements in a way that felt natural and user-focused. Our goal was to modernize the look and feel of the content experience without losing the trust and credibility that Bankrate’s brand is known for.
The new design is clean, intuitive, and purpose-driven—allowing users to easily engage with rates, calculators, and product offers directly within editorial content. Careful attention was given to maintaining brand consistency, ensuring that every new component felt like an organic extension of the Bankrate ecosystem. By balancing informational value with clear action pathways, we created an experience that feels both authoritative and accessible, empowering users to move seamlessly from research to decision-making.
Results
The redesigned editorial experience led to stronger user engagement and smoother transitions from research to action. Users interacted more frequently with calculators, comparison tools, and related product offers embedded within editorial content. By maintaining a clean, trustworthy design aligned with Bankrate’s brand, we preserved user trust while improving conversion opportunities across key financial products.
The Take Away
When users trust the content, they’re more willing to take action. Seamlessly blending transactional elements into editorial pages—without compromising clarity or credibility—creates a smarter, more intuitive experience that supports both user needs and business goals.
